Ever since we kicked 'em out, the Brits have been finding their way back into the USA. Today, the British Broadcasting Company has invaded our TV screens armed with period costume, the bon-est of mots, and wit so dry it hurts. Join us, then, and we ruffle a few knickers and set the teakettle singing by sending up some of the best of what British TV has to offer.
The Broadcast Listing for the Evening:
When you roll the dice with Miss Rose, you're always a winner. Minnie D’Moocha climbs up the social ladder back onto our stage while Kat Mandu steps out from behind the counter, and out of her clothes! Ruby Solitaire will exterminate all your inhibitions while Crimson Kitty and JZ Bich make their Excelsior debut as a certain fabulous duo. Finally, Dottie Dynamo, as an agent of the resistance, misses the theme by just *that much* (not that you’ll mind). Our erstwhile host Moe Cheezmo brings you something completely different in an extra special performance that you will not be expecting and Ivory Askew will be the evening’s gogo artist, as a pompous vision of light on the starship that is the Excelsior stage.
This Anglophilial, eccydiscal event occurs December 10th, with broadcast starting at 9pm at the R Bar Public House at 218 Bowery, with an all-colonial cast including:

A simple question, “Who Watches the Watchmen?” was at the center of an 80’s comic book that helped usher in a renaissance of sequential art, and has since been recognized as one of the greatest works of modern literature. Tuesday, November 12th at R-Bar, Excelsior Burlesque explores the dark, twisted, and often naked underbelly of comics that is the work of Alan Moore. In honor of the creator of such stories as Watchmen and V for Vendetta, Excelsior Burlesque is proud to present some of of the best in NYC & Philadelphia nerdlesque, including:
Dottie Riot, who goes green with her tribute to a Moore creation from the dark, hot, wetlands and Brettzo showing us why people shouldn’t be afraid of their government. Anja Keister will give you eyestrain with her extraordinary talents before Helena Backseat and Roxanne St. John uncover it all and dust the cobwebs off a little known Moore duo. Magdalana Fox’s end will be nigh when she reminds us that she isn’t stuck in here with you, you’re stuck to your chairs for HER! And when Ruby Solitaire takes us through the looking glass, all logic (and everything else) will be stripped away!
Coming to R-Bar at 218 Bowery, on Tuesday, November 12th at 9pm, Ruby Solitaire and Moe Cheezmo of Excelsior Burlesque bring you acts of graphic sex and violence by Magdalena Fox, Anja Keister, Brettzo, Dottie Riot, Helena Backseat, Roxanne St. John and Ruby Solitaire, with gogo by Apathy Angel!

On Tuesday, September 10th, at 9pm, Excelsior Burlesque welcomes the coeds with a very special back to school spectacular! You’ll be on the edge of your seat and yelling for more pencils, books, and even the teacher’s very, very dirty looks as we remind you of what you dreamed of doing down behind the bleachers.
Co-producers Moe Cheezmo and Ruby Solitaire (who both stayed in school far longer than was reasonable) have gotten together the sexiest group of students and teachers this side of Degrassi. The show features Mary Cyn and Stella Chuu in their plaid-skirted best, as two schoolgirls with two very different problems. Minnie D’Moocha will be there to keep order amongst the rabble . . . maybe she’s the one who sent Kitty Katastrophe to the corner? Dot Mitzvah is definitely more than a girl’s best friend and Ruby Solitaire will show you what she discovered on her summer vacation.
Helena Backseat and and Roxanne St. John will be staying after class and making their freshman Excelsior appearances clapping erasers and gogo-ing for your intermission delight!

At 9pm on Tuesday,August 13th Excelsior Burlesque has drawn together a cast that illustrates some of the best burlesque in NYC and beyond - in more ways than one. Drawing from the depths of their comic collections, you'll have no issues with this show as Ruby Solitaire, Anja Keister, Plucky Charms, Hayley Jane, Vonka Romanov and Fancy Feast flash you their back pages in a night of graphic novels made truly graphic.
We've all seen Super Girl and Wonder Woman strip down to their battle-tassels onstage, but not every comic worthy of public nudity is about pummeling villains in skin-tight leotards. This month, Excelsior Burlesque brings your favorite serials off the page in three dimensions with "ComicsWithout Capes." This look at the inky antics and paper dames of the other, not so heroic, but still pretty super, funny books, will leave your pages sticky and your hands dirty.
Bringing you, in full color (and it's not even Sunday!):

- Plucky Charms - Keeps on truckin' . . .
- Haley Jane - Making you purr . . .
- Vonka Romanov - A sex bob-omb . . .
- Fancy Feast - Will make the bus come . . .
- & Ruby Solitaire - Steals your family jewels . . .

At 9pm on Tuesday, July 9th Excelsior Burlesque invites you on an adventure that will take you long, long ago, far, far away, and to the Bowery, with “Replicants, Nazis, and Sith: A Burlesque Triute to Harrison Ford. " Some of the best burlesque and boylesque acts on the East Coast are coming together to celebrate a man who encouraged us all to shoot first and carry a long bullwhip.
Co-producers Moe Cheezmo and Ruby Solitaire present a cast that will make you forget all about "The Kingdom Crystal Skull." Featuring: international star Bettina Mae, helping fight off some ugly customes (not *our* customers, thanks). Rawr! Burlesque producer Dangrr Doll, giving us a hell of a skin job, and Hard Corey making the Kessel run in less than twelve parsecs. Philladelphia boylesquer Brettzo will be waving it at anything that slithers in his NYC debut while Cherry La Voix goes on the lam looking for a man with one arm. Producer Ruby Solitaire gets in on the action with a little sock hop of her own. A send up of the only man in 30 years to pull off a fedora, we know you'll enjoy this July salute to one of the greatest American actors of our time. Join us at R Bar on July 9th, when this Bowery night spot becomes a wrenched hive of scum and villainy. Well, more so. |
At 9pm on Tuesday, June 11th Excelsior Burlesque is proud to bring you a dirty tribute to the children’s show that sparked flights of fancy with each episode with “Reading Rainboobs: Opening Books – Removing Clothes”
Co-producers Moe Cheezmo (who, at some point, majored in readin’) and Ruby Solitaire (who lives in fantasy world all her own) have put together a stellar lineup of performers who will demonstrate exactly why reading is FUN-damental. The show features the cotton-candy dream of Hotsy Totsy Burlesque, Cherry Pitz, as well as Mary Cyn of Epic Win (herself an author), and a recent transplant from the Big Easy, Moxie Sazerac! We’ll also show you how much we love Coco Te Amo (and how much she loves you) and get a downright wild with Zoe Ziegfeld. The words will flow like wine, and the wine will flow like cheap bourbon, all in service of our second-favorite pastime (you can likely guess the first). Hotter than sex in the school library (what, didn’t everybody?) and far less likely to result in paper cuts, “Reading Rainboobs” brings you some of the funniest ladies in burlesque as we explore gems from our childhoods and formative years (and boy, what forms they ended up being!). These are the books taught us to use the imaginations that later became oh-so-dirty . . . and we want to share them with you! FEATURING ACTS SURE TO MAKE YOUR SOFT COVER HARDBOUND: Cherry Pitz Mary Cyn Moxie Sazerac Coco Te Amo Zoe Ziegfeld & Ruby SolitaireWith your literary critic and host Moe Cheezmo – be sure to “check out” our sexy librarian Melody Jane, handling book returns and gogo! |
